This digital exhibit explores the evolving Black experience at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) from its founding in 1965 to the present day. It draws primarily from archival sources including the Coyote Chronicle student newspaper (and its earlier versions), the Friday Bulletin campus newsletter, and a rich collection of historical photographs preserved in the University Archives. These materials have helped illuminate the lives and contributions of Black students, influential figures within CSUSB’s Black community, and campus events that celebrate and elevate Black excellence. The exhibit aims to preserve and honor this vital history, ensuring that the stories and legacies of CSUSB’s Black community are recognized and remembered.
