About

The CSUSB Black Experience project was designed to address a recognized gap in the University Archives’ holdings that contain little documentation of the contributions and experiences of Black faculty, staff, and students at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB). As a starting point in addressing this shortcoming in the University Archives, the project captured documentation of notable people, events, and milestones from CSUSB’s Black community that have been preserved in university publications, the university website, published books, local newspapers, and archival collections. The materials uncovered during this process form the basis of this digital exhibit that showcases the Black experience at CSUSB.

This project was supported in-part by a 2021-2022 CSUSB Office of Academic Research Faculty Professional Development Grant.
